Enterix was formed to address a global void in modern health care: the lack of an easy-to-use and cost-effective tool for bowel (colorectal) cancer screening. Our primary objective is to deliver the world's first affordable bowel cancer screening program, and to make this program universally available to everyone at risk of developing the disease.

The InSure^® (previously !nform®) bowel cancer screening service was launched in Australia in early 2000, making Australia the world leader in screening for the early detection of bowel cancer.

Enterix’s core product, InSure^®, is a Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) that detects blood from the bleeding tissue of a bowel cancer, or its precursor lesions. This new immuno-chemical technology replaces the chemical (guaiac) test procedure which is used by many of the older style Faecal Occult Blood Tests. The test’s method of detection (based on antibodies to hemoglobin) and its simple-to-use design result in sensitivity, specificity, and consumer compliance performance well in excess of the chemically based tests currently in use; the superiority of InSure^® in these dimensions is supported by clinical trials.
